Rakta Charitra English (Blood Character) is an upcoming trilingual Indian film produced and directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Simultaneously made in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil,[1] the film is based on the life of Paritala Ravi, a slain factionist and political leader from Andhra Pradesh.[2] Vivek Oberoi plays the role of Ravi, while Surya enacts the role of Maddelacheruvu Suri, Ravi's political nemesis. Shatrughan Sinha, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Radhika Apte play other pivotal roles. The film, currently in the final stages of post-production, is scheduled to be released on October 22, 2010.
